30 Years of Supporting Innovative Entrepreneurship
The Science and Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C) was established in 1993 by the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), one of Greece’s leading research organizations. STEP-C serves as FORTH’s primary structure for promoting research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, acting as a key innovation hub for the Region of Crete in collaboration with the island’s academic and research institutions.
STEP-C offers approximately 6,000 m² of office and laboratory space, hosting innovative startups primarily focused on technology. Its facilities are strategically located approximately 10 km from the city of Heraklion.
STEP-C’s location within the premises of FORTH, together with its proximity to the University Hospital of Heraklion, the University of Crete, and the Hellenic Mediterranean University, provides a significant advantage for business development. This unique environment brings together a high concentration of laboratories, research infrastructure, and scientific expertise, offering valuable support to the companies hosted in the Business Incubator.
